RED HOT RED SOX IN TOWN

OAKLAND -- The Red Sox bring their winning ways into Oakland starting tomorrow night to start a big three game series between two hot teams. Boston has been absolutely aflame. They're on a 10-game winning streak and have won 14 of 16. Their schedule has been somewhat easy compared to Oakland, but their .296 team batting average is no fluke. It would be a huge lift for Oakland if they can take this series.

Pedro Martinez takes the hill in the opener for Boston. He has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in any start this year. Martinez struckout 19 on opening day.

Incredibly, Boston pitching has shutout their opponent 6 times this season. They are 6-1 in one run games.

Probable Pitchers:

Game 1: BOS - Pedro Martinez (5-0, 1.33) vs. OAK - Barry Zito (3-3, 3.51)
Game 2: BOS - John Burkett (0-0, 11.20) vs. OAK - Mike Fyhrie (0-2, 7.90)
Game 3: BOS - Derek Lowe (4-1, 2.27) vs. OAK - Cory Lidle (2-0, 3.93)
